I have finally admitted to myself — and to my husband, who promptly laughed at me — that I could really benefit from having a coupon organizer. As it stands, I currently clip all of my coupons, organize them into food and non-food piles, then paperclip them together and toss them in my wallet. This is very disorganized, I know. Hence me finally coming to my senses and deciding that a coupon organizer is one purchase I should make sometime soon.

Speaking of organization, if you want to get your kitchen cabinets organized for spring, you should really check out the coupons in the recent Sunday newspaper! There are coupons for Tupperware containers, Rubbermaid containers, Glad storage bags, and more! Combine them with Kmart coupons or general sales, and you’ve got a really great deal on your hands!

Earlier this week I learned the hard way how important it is to keep tabs on when coupons expire. I needed detergent and fabric softener for my washer, so I thought, “Hey, I’ll use that Purex coupon along with some Target coupons in order to really save a few bucks”! So off I went to the store, happy as a clam, knowing I’d be able to purchase a pack of Purex 3-in-1 laundry sheets and get a second pack for free, and then use a Target coupon to get an additional two bucks off, and my remaining Target coupons on some other items.

Only… the buy-1-get-1 coupon had expired. I was so bummed. Do you know how rare it is to find a coupon that entitles you to get something for free?! But I got over it. I remembered a manufacturer coupon I had printed from the Purex website, so I used that instead. And while I didn’t get a $5 pack of laundry sheets for free, I did save $3 — so I got close!

So learn from my mistake… keep tabs on the expiration dates of your coupons. Otherwise all of that…
